Yoga Nidra is a gentle, guided practice that offers the body and mind a safe place to rest and restore while inviting connection with loving awareness, the part of ourselves that is always awake, always at ease, always alive with creativity. This ancient technique, often translated as the “yoga of sleep,” is typically done on the back in a supported position (though seated is an option!) and it utilizes guided meditation, breath consciousness, body/sensory awareness, visualization, and silence to invite us into a place of quiet, surrender, and trust. While resting on the threshold of waking and sleeping, held in a strong container of love, the medicine of our awareness gently washes and revives our body-mind-heart self. In that space of ‘wakeful sleep,’ we realign with our true nature. Old, painful patterning in our psyche gently clears. Deep wounds receive a healing balm. The belief that we are separate from ourselves, others, and the source of all life is smoothed away. And there - in that quiet, integrated state - we remember that we are inherently whole and luminous. There we become available to levels of ease, vision, and creativity that we forgot were possible.

In this two-hour retreat, we invite you on this journey of rest and re-membering. Gentle movement, breathwork, meditation, self-inquiry, and journal writing will prepare you for the Yoga Nidra practice itself. Please dress comfortably and bring a journal or notebook. If you are at home prepare a space for yourself where you can be quiet, warm and undisturbed.
